Connecting Xero On Oviond

Steps to assist you in connecting Xero on Oviond, including permissions, limitations, reconnecting, and possible error messages.

This article will help you understand how to connect and use Xero on Oviond.

Xero Permissions

In order to pull your Xero data through to Oviond, you need to have the login credentials for the Xero account that has access as a user with any role except read-only.

If you need to be added as a user, these are the steps that can be followed by anyone that is already a manager on the account:

  1. Log into your Xero account.

  2. Click on the organisation name, select Settings, then click Users.

  3. Click Invite a user.

  4. Enter the new user's first name, last name, and email address. The email address you send the invite to will be the user's login email address.

  5. Select which features you want them to access, and a user role for each feature.

  6. Click Send Invite.

Connecting Xero To Oviond

In order to connect your Xero account to Oviond, you will need the Email Address and Password associated with your Xero account.

Steps to follow to connect Xero as an integration on Oviond:

  1. Open Oviond and navigate to the client you wish to connect Xero to.

  2. Click on Xero.

  3. An authentication pop-up will appear (The first authenticated account will automatically be called "Default Xero Account") and you can change this here.

  4. Fill in your email and password if you are not logged into Xero on another widow.

  5. Choose the Organisation you want to connect to then click Allow access.

  6. Select Default Xero Account then click Next.

  7. Choose the Xero account to connect to.

  8. Click Save.

Limitations With Xero On Oviond

You will need to have the login credentials to the Xero account in order to connect Xero as an integration on Oviond. You need to have at least one Organisation set up in your Xero account before you can allow access to Oviond during the authentication process.

Reconnecting Xero To Oviond

If you get this error message on your report "Data not found for Xero! Click here to connect or refresh." that looks like this:

Please follow these steps:

  1. Click on the refresh button next to the date selector in the project.

    if the widgets still don't load data

  2. Go to the Integration page for the client or click on connect in the widget and make sure you have connected the correct Xero account.

  3. Go to Manage Integrations and refresh the token for the authenticated account you connected to the client.
