# Check custom domain status

Know whether a branded domain is ready.

Use the domain status check after adding or changing DNS records.

Common statuses:

-   Pending: DNS may not be updated yet.
    
-   Needs attention: records may be missing or incorrect.
    
-   Active or verified: the domain is ready to use.
    

If the domain is still pending after DNS has had time to update, compare the records in your DNS provider with the records shown in Oviond.
