Connecting PayPal on Oviond

Prerequisites

  • Ensure you have an Oviond account with administrative access.

  • Access to your PayPal account Client ID and Secret Key.

PayPal Permissions

To access the Client ID and Secret Key on PayPal, follow these steps:

  1. From the home page of your PayPal account, click on the profile icon on the top right of the page and click 'Dashboard'.

  2. Select 'My Apps and Credentials' from the menu on the left.

  3. On this page, click 'Live'.

  4. Select 'Create App'.

  5. Name the App to help you identify which platform you have used the Client ID and Secret Key in and then click 'Create App'.

  6. Under the section Live App Settings, tick the option 'Transaction Search' and click 'Save'.

Connecting PayPal to Oviond

  1. Open Oviond and navigate to the client you wish to connect PayPal to.

  2. Select Project or Start a New Project

    • Select the project you want to work on or start a new project.

    • If starting a new project, it will automatically open in the Workspace Editor.

  3. Access the Project Workspace Editor

    • Click 'Edit' to access the Project Workspace Editor if you are working on an existing project.

  4. In the action sidebar menu on the right, select Data Sources.

  5. Click PayPal.

  6. An integration connection pop-up will appear on the right (The first authenticated account will automatically be called "Default PayPal Account"), and you can change this under Data Sources.

  7. Paste the Client ID and Secret Key into the fields.

  8. Once you are done, click 'Save'.

Limitations With PayPal on Oviond

You will need to copy the Client ID and Secret Key from the Live section in the My Apps & Credentials section. A Sandbox API won't work.

You need to ensure that you have selected Transaction Search in the App Feature Options in order for the data to pull through in Oviond.

Reconnecting PayPal to Oviond

If you get this error message on your report:

Please follow these steps:

  1. Click on the refresh button in the widget or next to the date selector in the project.

    if the widgets still don't load data

  2. Go to Data Sources or click on 'Connect' in the widget and make sure you have connected the correct PayPal account. If not, you can remove the connected account and click 'Add New' to add a new Client ID Secret Key (make sure the Client ID and Secret Key are from a Live API and not a Sandbox API).
