# Create or update a template

Save a report structure for future use.

A good template should be generic enough to reuse and specific enough to save time.

Before saving a template:

-   Remove client-specific notes that should not appear elsewhere.
    
-   Use clear page and widget names.
    
-   Check that the layout works for different clients.
    
-   Keep only the widgets your team actually uses.
    

Update templates when your reporting process changes, not every time one client needs a small custom edit.
