# Add widgets

Use widgets to show charts, KPIs, tables, and text.

Widgets are the building blocks of reports and dashboards.

When adding a widget, check:

-   The widget type matches the question you want to answer.
    
-   The correct client data source is selected.
    
-   The metric and date range are correct.
    
-   The chart title is clear for the client.
    

If a widget looks empty, first check the date range and selected data source.
