# Create a report or dashboard

Start a new project for a client.

Before you create a project, add the client and connect at least one data source.

Steps:

-   Open the client.
    
-   Go to the Projects area.
    
-   Click New Project.
    
-   Choose Report or Dashboard.
    
-   Name the project.
    
-   Start blank or choose a template.
    
-   Create the project and open the editor.
    

The project belongs to the client you create it under.
