# Choose the right account or profile

Avoid linking the wrong marketing account to a client.

Many agencies manage several accounts under one login. Always confirm the exact account, property, page, profile, or ad account before saving a data source.

Before linking, check:

-   The platform account name.
    
-   The account ID if available.
    
-   The client it belongs to.
    
-   Whether the selected account has recent data.
    

If you accidentally link the wrong account, remove it from the client and link the correct one.
