# Connect a data source

Authorize a platform and link it to a client.

Connecting a data source usually has two parts.

-   Authorize the platform account.
    
-   Link the specific account, property, or profile to the right client.
    

Basic steps:

-   Open Integrations or the client’s Integrations area.
    
-   Choose the platform you want to connect.
    
-   Follow the authorization flow.
    
-   Select the account or profile that belongs to the client.
    
-   Save the connection.
    
-   Test the connection before building widgets.
    

Use the account that has access to the client’s marketing data. If the wrong login is used, the account you need may not appear.
