Connecting a new integration can often be stressful. How do you know if your account is set up correctly when you're working with so many different platforms? Sometimes something as simple as a permission level can prevent you from connecting that integration to Oviond. In this article we will be helping you understand how to get started with Google Ads on Oviond.
Check your Google Ads permission
As mentioned above, something as simple as your permission level could influence your ability to connect your clients Google Ads account to Oviond. If you are not able to find the client you are looking for under Oviond’s selection menu, the first thing you need to check is the permission level you have been granted to the Ad account. To check your permission level:
- Log into your Google Ads account
- Select “Tools and settings”
- Under “Setup”, select “Access and security”
All the emails that have been granted access to the ad account will be listed under this page. Next to each email address you will be able to see the access level that was granted. Please note that in order for the ad account to pull through to Oviond, you would need to have admin access to the Google Ad account. If you see that you have not been granted the correct access, ask the account owner to change your access level. Learn more about how to change a users access level on Google Ads.
It is advised to refresh the integration token before attempting to reconnect the client project to the integration. Learn more about refreshing an integration token.
If you do have the correct permission level and the account is still not pulling through, this means that you do not have the right account in Google Ads. To connect Google Ads data on to Oviond, you are required to have an MCC account which is also referred to as a Manager Account. MCC is known as My Clients Centre and allows you to manage all your Ad accounts through a single log in. Learn more about converting your current account into an MCC account.
Once you have signed up for an MCC account, follow the steps below to transfer your clients Ad accounts to a single log in:
- Go to Accounts
- Click on the blue + (plus)
- Link existing accounts
- Copy all your Google Ads Customer IDs and paste them in the blocks provided
- Send request
If you are an admin on all your Google Ads accounts you manage, you will be able to accept this request from each Google Ad account.
Once this is done please go to https://app.oviond.com/dashboard/manage-authentications and refresh the Google Ads token, using the email address for your MCC account.
